Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – Samoa U19 Women have officially secured their place at the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup after a commanding 58-run victory over Fiji U19 Women in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific (EAP) Qualifier on 13 April 2026.
Batting first, Samoa posted a strong total of 130/9 in 20 overs, powered by an outstanding innings from Player of the Match, Avetia Fetu Mapu, who scored an unbeaten 67 runs, including two sixes — the only sixes recorded throughout the tournament.
In reply, Fiji U19 Women were bowled out for 72 runs in 19 overs, with Akosita Levaci (12) and Ishani Singh (12) the top contributors. Extras added 28 runs to Fiji’s total.Samoa’s bowling unit delivered a strong performance, led by Telesia Vaoala Gabriel with 4 wickets, while Hardiya Padda impressed with 2 wickets for 9 runs in a disciplined spell.
Fiji struggled to establish partnerships, losing wickets at regular intervals, including three run-outs, as Samoa maintained control throughout the innings.
