There were so many incredible highlights, including Fiji’s Men’s Sevens Rugby team securing the Pacific’s sole Olympic medal, reflecting their hard work and determination. Several Oceania athletes made history with national debuts and personal best records.
Australia and New Zealand also shone brightly, with Australia earning a record 53 medals and New Zealand finishing with 20, including 10 golds.
At the Paralympics, Australia won 18 golds, 17 silvers, and 28 bronze medals for a total of 63. New Zealand won nine medals.
Congratulations to everyone involved – the Olympics and Paralympics present incredible opportunities for our hardworking and deserving Oceania athletes, and we hope they can all feel proud of their accomplishments and excited for the future.
