The Oceania International Invitational Wushu Kung Fu Championships 2026 will take place in Brisbane, Queensland from 21st to 25th May, bringing together leading martial artists from across the Oceania region in a celebration of skill, culture, and unity.
The Championships serve as a premier regional event dedicated to the development and promotion of Kung Fu and Wushu throughout Oceania. The program will encompass Kung Fu, Wushu (Taolu), Taijiquan (Tai Chi), and Sanda (Combat Wushu/Kung Fu), providing a comprehensive showcase of the sport’s depth and diversity.
Hosted by Kung Fu Wushu Australia (KWA), the event will highlight technical excellence while fostering cultural exchange and international collaboration within the martial arts community. Athletes from nations across Oceania and Asia are invited to compete, reinforcing the Championships’ role as a key platform for regional engagement and sporting development.
In addition to competition, the event will feature cultural performances and demonstrations that celebrate the rich heritage and traditions of Kung Fu and Wushu. In a significant step forward for inclusivity, the 2026 Championships will, for the first time, include para and neurodiverse performances. This initiative reflects a strong commitment to accessibility, diversity, and equal opportunity within the sport.
The Championships will incorporate three major events:
- Oceania International Invitational Wushu Kung Fu Championships
- Australian National Kung Fu Wushu Championships
- Queensland State Kung Fu Wushu Championships
Beyond competition, the event contributes to a broader vision for the sport’s future. It supports ongoing efforts to elevate Kung Fu Wushu on the world stage. By uniting athletes of all abilities and backgrounds, the Championships aim to strengthen regional ties, promote friendship and mutual respect, and uphold the core values of discipline, integrity, and cultural exchange that define Kung Fu and Wushu.
