“We obviously knew yesterday that we’d clinch,” Australian manager Jason Pospishil said after the game. “But today we were playing a game where we were representing our country and every game’s important. I’m just so proud of my group and their attitude. Executionally, there are some things we could probably do better, but I’ll tell you what: they continue to play hard for seven innings, and it’s never over till it’s over. That’s a credit to my players.”
