2024 ITTF-Oceania Youth Championships Wrap

The 2024 ITTF-Oceania Youth Championships were played at LOOPS Table Tennis in Melbourne, Australia on 7-8 September. Aside from crowning continental champions, the event also served as the qualification vehicle for the 2024 World Youth Championships. Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Tahiti were the participating countries.

TEAM EVENTS

Team event matches heated up throughout the day on Saturday 7 September and it was Australia and New Zealand who bagged all titles on offer:

  • Under 19 Boy’s final: Gold – Australia, Silver – New Zealand, Bronze – Tahiti.
  • Under 19 Girl’s final: Gold – Australia, Silver – New Zealand.
  • Under 15 Boy’s final: Gold – Australia, Silver – New Zealand, Bronze – Tahiti.
  • Under 15 Girl’s final: Gold – New Zealand, Silver – Australia, Bronze – Tahiti.

SINGLES EVENTS

All singles titles were decided on Sunday 8 September, with the group stage preceding the knock out stage. Once again it was Australia and New Zealand athletes who rose to the top:

  • Under 19 Boy’s Singles: Gold – Won Bae (AUS), Silver – Aditya Sareen (AUS), Bronze – Hwan Bae (AUS) and Chulong Nie (AUS).
  • Under 19 Girl’s Singles: Gold – Sanaya Buddhadasa (AUS), Silver – Connie Psihogios (AUS) Bronze – Hanna Goh (AUS) and Cherry Le (AUS).
  • Under 15 Boy’s Singles: Gold – August Xiao (NZL), Silver – Jacob Huang (AUS), Bronze – Adeepa Keerthiratne (AUS) and Oscar Du (NZL).
  • Under 15 Girl’s Singles: Gold – Ayumi Moriyama (NZL), Silver – Josephine Chong (NZL), Bronze – Alice Xia (AUS) and Anya Chen (NZL).
