New ITTF-Oceania Constitution Unanimously Approved

An ITTF-Oceania Special General Meeting (SGM) was convened in Doha, Qatar on 25 May 2025 for the express purpose of considering a new Constitution.

ITTF-Oceania is pleased to announce that the 23 ITTF-Oceania Member Associations present at the SGM unanimously approved the new Constitution.

Through the new Constitution, ITTF-Oceania will now be governed by a new and modern document that sets the tone for the next chapter in our rich 48-year history.

The process to implement the new Constitution started in June 2024, with three rounds of feedback and consultation sought from ITTF-Oceania Member Associations, ITTF-Oceania Personal Honorary Members and ITTF. The feedback provided by stakeholders made the document better and stronger and the constructive way feedback was provided ensures the new Constitution is a document created by the ITTF-Oceania family, for the ITTF-Oceania family.

Importantly, for the first time ever the Constitution is provided in both English and French.

Immediately preceding the SGM, ITTF-Oceania also convened our 2025 AGM. A summary of the outcomes is:

ITTF-Oceania invited Mr. Khalil Al-Mohannadi to address our Member Associations at the AGM and invited Ms. Petra Sörling to join our SGM.

Upon completing the AGM and SGM, ITTF-Oceania President, Mr. Anthony Moore, commented “today was a momentous day for table tennis in Oceania on many fronts. Our first in-person gathering since 2017, our first meeting in our 48-year history where all 24 Member Associations were present and the unanimous approval of a new Constitution that will fundamentally alter the way we operate.

“Taken separately each of these are milestone achievements for our organisation. In particular, the unanimous approval of Constitutional change is a legacy moment for ITTF-Oceania.

“As an Oceania family, we should take great pride in our successful delivery of all three outcomes in what was an historic day for our sport.

“Finally, having our united Oceania family together in Qatar these few days has been invaluable for the future of table tennis in our region.”
