Australia and New Zealand have qualified for the WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup 2027 following the conclusion of the WBSC Oceania U-15 Women’s Softball Qualifier, held from 20-22 July at Tony Solaita Fields in Tafuna, American Samoa.
Australia finished atop the three-team tournament after an unbeaten campaign, winning all six games in the triple round-robin competition featuring Australia, New Zealand and hosts American Samoa.
World No. 11 Australia opened with a 26-0 victory over American Samoa before defeating New Zealand 14-4 on the opening day. They continued their winning form with victories over New Zealand (8-0) and American Samoa (17-9) on Tuesday, before closing the tournament with a 9-2 win against New Zealand and a 12-5 victory over the hosts.
Australia outscored their opponents 86-20 across six games to finish first in the standings.
New Zealand secured the second qualification place after finishing with a 2-4 record, with both of their victories coming against American Samoa. The hosts also celebrated a memorable 13-10 win over New Zealand on the opening day to record their only victory of the tournament.
Australia and New Zealand are the first teams to qualify for the WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup 2027, which will be staged in Oklahoma City, United States.
