The Included Through Sport program in the Solomon Islands champions inclusive athletics, ensuring individuals with both visible and non-visible disabilities have equal opportunities to participate in community activities.
Supported by Sport Inclusion Australia and the Oceania Athletics Association, Athletics Solomons has equipped coaches and volunteers with the skills needed to deliver accessible and inclusive sporting experiences across Guadalcanal, Central, and Malaita Provinces. A landmark achievement of the program was the participation of 15 athletes from the Special Development Centre in the 2024 National Championships.
Additionally, Athletics Solomon Islands organized the Gender Leadership Seminar, integrating wellbeing and inclusion principles to empower participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take on leadership roles that prioritise inclusivity within the Solomon Islands community.
