Upon completion of the event, ITTF-Oceania CEO Scott Houston commented, “I am pleased with the first Oceania event of 2025. We worked hard to provide the players, coaches and officials with good conditions and we received very positive feedback about the event. Irrespective of this, after speaking with the players during the event we have identified some improvements that we can make for next year to make the event even better.
“I congratulate all our Member Associations on their performances, matches were played to a high standard and in the right spirit. Finally, I would like to express my appreciation to Vanuatu’s Anolyn Lulu and her coach Satoshi Takashima; there was an catastrophic earthquake in Vanuatu in December which meant their participation at the event was not certain. To make it to the event and then to win gold in the Pacific Cup Women’s Singles is an outstanding achievement and I hope this helps boost morale in Vanuatu as the recovery efforts continue.”
